Switch Brews Crew Lead Job Description
The Switch Brews Crew Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at our hybrid specialty coffee shop and taproom. As a leader within the Switch Brews Crew, you will oversee staff, maintain service standards, and support a welcoming environment where guests enjoy high-quality craft beverages and memorable experiences. You’ll be hands-on—serving customers, managing the team, and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Supervise and support the Switch Brews Crew during shifts, ensuring excellent customer service and smooth operations.​

Customer Service Excellence:
Serve as the main point of contact for guest inquiries or concerns, ensuring every guest feels welcome and valued.
​
Operations Oversight:
Manage the floor, including monitoring the self-serve tap wall, coffee bar, and food preparation areas.
​
Beverage Expertise:
Provide guidance to staff and guests about specialty coffee, craft beers, wines, and ciders, sharing knowledge and recommendations.
​
Staff Development:
Train, mentor, and provide feedback to crew members, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
​
Inventory & Stocking:
Ensure supplies are well-stocked and assist with inventory management, including ordering and receiving goods.
​
Cleanliness & Safety:
Uphold cleanliness standards throughout the establishment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
​
Problem Solving:
Troubleshoot equipment or service issues and ensure they are resolved efficiently.
Support Management:
Assist in administrative tasks, including shift scheduling, reporting, and communicating with ownership about operational needs.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry, such as a coffee shop, bar, or taproom.

Enthusiasm for craft beverages, including specialty coffee and craft beer, with a willingness to continuously learn about new products.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
​
Comfortable operating and troubleshooting coffee equipment, tap wall systems, and food preparation tools.
Must be at least 21 years old and willing to complete any necessary alcohol service training (e.g., AZ Title 4 Training).
